About LookUpNPI

The LookUpNPI web service was launched by Curbside M.D. to offer healthcare providers a free, easy to use service to comply with U.S. Health and Human Services regulations mandating the use of National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers. The secure LookUpNPI web application is designed to speed up billing processes that utilize NPI numbers and minimize the administrative impact of the new requirements.

Curbside M.D., a professional social online network for physicians, was founded in 2006. Its signature product, Curbside Communities™, is designed to connect medical professionals online, providing a secure communications platform for physician interaction. In addition to offering efficient and powerful tools that help physicians communicate more effectively, Curbside Communities provides secure access to professional networking and exposure to enabling technologies, such as voice over internet (VOIP) phone services, medical transaction processing services, LookUpNPI, membership services for medical organizations, such as the Santa Clara County Medical Association (www.SCCMA.org), and consulting services.

Company leadership is made up of a team that has worked in both in Internet development and healthcare since Netscape released its browser to the world. Many were influential at Healtheon/Webmd from early in its inception and then went on from there in other organizations providing either industry or web solutions evolving from our core belief that industry problems need to be solved to reduce healthcare’s expense to society.
